Yikes, we can't afford to run a town.

I was just doing the books for the town, so I could pay out the second year's wages, and there are some crazy ass wages for some of the people we've needed to hire.. they don't look so bad but until you move them from the monthly total to the yearly
38,000 gp, which is far more than we can ever expect this town to generate in GDP much less taxes.

So I decided to look at the players for average costs, if we take a common quality lodging with food for 4 people a family needs 12 sp for food/day =8.4 gold /week
+3 gp per week for lodging

for poor folks food = 4 people @ 1sp =4sp per day or 2.8 gp/week
housing = 2sp per week
total about 3 gp/ per week

This makes no sense compared to the wages we pay @1-2 gold per week,, a normal soldier makes 10-20% of a normal wage or 30-60% poverty wage far too low

A castellan makes 800gp or 800-400x the wage of a soldier,, I'm not sure this makes sense either,
A weapon smith 100x
armourer 100x
architect 100x

Even the trades like blacksmith are 20-30 time the base wage where historical listings labour costs have skilled trades only 3-10 time an unskilled labourer, and I would think a soldier makes slightly more than a labourer.

As I see it the soldiers make too little and the specialists make far too much,I find the whole wage structure unbalanced and can see no way that we can keep this up long term. That said everyone take your share of this years expenses 6333gp

We also need to fire people or renegotiate wages based on the land grants they have recieved in lieu of wages.
