| Okay, who's available when? As usual, any Monday is good for me.
Here are 3 tenative dates: Nov 3, Nov 10, and Nov 17.
Respond as to which dates are good for you and we'll pick the one with the most people.

| Publically shared calendars (e.g., Google/GMail calendar) might be a solution. Someone could select Mondays where no one is booked; I assume each person could then accept or deny the "appointment". Plus, a calendar is a good all-around tool for managing one's time. | |

| Yes Craig is gallavanting around AztecLand(tm). I'll give Harrison a (figurative) boot to the head and see when (if at all) he's available. | |

| my extra curricular activities are a little curbed at the moment as I am studying for my PFP (a bunch of letters which stand for some financial designation, and is a big pain in the @ss). Didn't realize how frik'n difficult it is to study after all these years... I am hoping to be done studying and the three exams by new year <fingers crossed> | |

| Happy Birthday, Carter. (All else being equal, do they get slightly less happy each time?) | |

| they certainly don't seem to get more exciting or more fun with age. I think the realization that no one can give you the time , quiet, acreage, mules, bunker or bullion you really want makes them too anticlimatic.
Have you read world war Z ? you can borrow it after Jonathan.
That book about the walking dead people was ok until the last chapter and fell apart with a week ending. Thinking it was an abberation I took anohter of his books out of the library and found the exact same thing. Good ideas, fairly creepy, piss poor finale.

I was thinking that each birthday is a reminder that we're one year closer to the crypt, one year weaker, one year more vulnerable to disease, etc. On the other hand, we are perhaps a year wiser, a year more experienced, and a year closer to our goals. Book sounds intriguing, but I'll take a pass based on your evaluation of the ending. I think you should reconsider The Black Swan. It is a new way of looking at the world--and at us.

| Steve the book I was slagging was the book you loaned me about the dead people who walk off into the desert to serve the old dead witch lady. The Walkers
I borrowed another of his and found the same issue with the ending being weak.
world war Z however was pretty good.

world war Z however was pretty good. Ah, I didn't know you were talking about 2 different books. I didn't much like The Walking, either. It had a great opening line, and was built on an interesting concept, but then it went to hell (in a bad way). I picked it because of the great reviews on Amazon.com. Note to self: take amateur reviews with a grain of NaCl. (I also read Wicked based on online reviews; it was okay; maybe it deserves a second chance.) World War Z, eh? (I'm backlogged with books-to-read, argh.) P.S. I don't want The Walking back, so you can pass it on to someone who might like it.

| Craig is back in town. I'll see him tomorrow night (Sat) at the movies, so I'll ask him then if he is free Monday. I think Mr. Lalanne is free, but I don't know if that has changed since he last looked at the forum. I'm willing to go with 3 peoples. | |

I'm still good for the 17th. P.S. Which movie? Based on Ebert's review, I want to see Synecdoche, New York.
