Have you guys given any thought to a Coat of Arms and livery for the settlement troops? I've been painting some of Carter's lead figures and was wondering if anyone had a particular colour scheme in mind.

Also, the model ship that I bought to represent your captured pirate ship is almost done (I just have to work up the courage to do the rigging). There are spots on the ship for shields to be attached with heraldic devices on them. I could paint personal Coats of Arms for anyone who wants them. Just let me know what you want and I'll paint it up.

due to the nature of farming out the painting to two other people, style and colour on the minatures is going to vary alot.

I had not worked out an emblem or colour for Cirdastan I was thinking flag or shield wise that our emblem would be a stylized head with 3 faces representing Cirda, I think this however will be my device and that of the order as it grow

We could put the space ship on the flag/device
Something marshal
a representation of the floating temple

For the most part troops would be mostly just their own clothes covered by armour depending how armoured they are. The crossbowmen who would be either the light inf or Milita have a variety of clothes colours with uniform armour

The heavies leave no clothes exposed so are mostly leather and metal shades but I am incorporating Rilds colour(cobalt blue) for their shields but have still need a simple device that can be duplicated on a 1CM kite shield.

I agree with Rild, but for the reason that heraldic devices are personal to the shield-holder (who would most likely be a knight).

Something about the imagery of Cirda at 3 different ages kept coming back to me (no it wasn’t the burrito I had for breakfast) and then the other image of the 4 elements, but something did not fit, but I've figured it out.

Historically people considered that there were 4 elements, earth, fire water and air, but pagans and wiccans, and even medieval alchemists claimed that there were 5 earth air water fire and either spirit or Ether.

That's when I figured it out, the puzzle of 4 elements to release Cirda was either simplified to 4 elements or the attempt to release her implicitly used the 5 element (spirit) as I concentrated on the task of delving the giant gems purpose.

If I'm right and we are talking 5 elements and the Wiccan pentagram is the appropriate symbol, either way however Cirda's imagery is stolen from the Wiccan Triple Goddess who is represented as the maiden, mother and Crone, 3 phases of the moon, or a trinity knot (unsurprisingly another pagan image stolen by Christianity)

A triple goddess was used in Greek and Roman rites (as was the Hindu Triumvirate of male gods), but the neo pagan/wiccan imagery is simple and easily adaptable to small paint brushes,

So who likes what images?

I thinking the moons, knot or pentagram would all be easy to paint small for my order or the church, but what would be a good emblem for the town itself. It’s too bad 6 of us found Cirda and not 5 then we could use the pentagram.
