I'm just feeling a little nit picky and I have to say that the author of this module has done a piss poor job of making a plausable setting.

1. if this trip through the mountains takes several weeks, there is no way the knights could have taken enough food for themselves and especially their mounts. Horses ridden with a heavy knight in cold weather would need a lot of food, far more than the remaining capacity of the horse after the knight gets on.
(we however have the advantage of bringing pack animals to carry the corpses home, therefore we can take lots of food with us.)

2. This tower could not have maintained its integrity when knocked over,, had it been concrete possibly, stonework no way.

Enough stone ruble to fill the stairways must mean walls have failed, yet there are no broken walls.

Would the detect magic tell us if the shield and armour glow of their own accord or have been cast with continual light some time post production?
I ask because who in their right mind would curse themselves with a permanently glowing set of armour? Not only should you be penalized fighting at night as if you had fairy fire cast on you but the glow of your own visor would effectively blind you.

I have no problem with a lake and things living in it but there is no way a local fish population in a small lake would feed a herd of crocs let alone giant ones, to sustain this you'd need graze animals coming to drink at the shore and getting ett.

The need for such external food would create the expectation that the lake's predators should have noticed the 6 men and horses who undoubtedly would have headed straight for a drink when they entered the caldera. Such attention to the shore would also suggest that the crocs should have seen the men taken out if they were attacked here.

You'd also think anything killing men would be tough enough to hunt gators/fish in the lake,, or would at least come to the lake for water. (if it/they require food)

I know non of those things really matter to the story but would the extra detail to rationalize how things really work take that much extra effort.

Maybe I'm just cranky after a lousy nights sleep..

searched tower, found FA but glowing armour , killed a croc , wrestled a croc into submission so you could friend it.
made it to cave mouth.
