With AD&D 1E we always added a certain amount of experience based on treasure vs. experience level of the foe(something like that).  I think we may have used a similar system in Jonathan's games. What was the formula for treasure exp?

I think I used 1gp=1/2 xp for treasure, and a 1:1 ratio for monsters.  There's an interesting table of xp awards for class-specific actions in the 2E DM's guide, if you're interested.

Thanks, Jonathan.  I've always given extra experience points for clever ideas, role-playing, world building ideas, actions,  and questions, etc...  If the class-specific action furthers the game or the PCs goals, xp is awarded e.g. a particularly clever use of Hide in Shadows, a proficiency, or magic item creation.

I think I had a blanket 10% xp for treasure, but I'll calculate the adventure I'm considering and see if your method works best.  I hope for two adventures or so per level.
